Android Smartphone Compatibility List

General Info

We generally recommend to use our iOS App with a compatible iPhone instead of using Android Smartphones with the SPINSIGHT beta App. The SPINSIGHT beta App on Android will be in the Beta stage for the forseeable future and it is not sure that it will ever be released officially. It may work for you now but it may stop working in the future due to software updates or other issues.

Supported smartphones

  • No Android smartphones are supported.
  • Some iPhone models are supported.

Testing your Smartphone

When you install the App it may ask you to "Run Tests", if the server doesn't have a preset for this model, yet. This test will take 1 to 5 minutes to complete and at the end you get a result. A test result of 240 FPS indicates that your phone might work well. A result of 120 FPS indicates that it might work for serves only. A failed test indicates that the SPINSIGHT beta App doesn't work on your smartphone. You can restart "Run Tests" with a fully charged battery if the first try fails.

To test if the measurement is actually working you need to measure spin with it using a SPINSIGHT ball for several minutes. Some smartphones don't deliver the required image quality. Some smartphones don't deliver the required processing power for a longer duration of time. Some smartphones can only measure slow balls reliably.
